So many times we are faced with decisions that cause us to make a choice; we can choose to seek after God in every aspect of our life, or we can allow Satan into our lives and build a nice little nest there.
I was shown a Passage of Scripture today that sums up my feelings about people that say they are Christians, but you can't tell because they have allowed Satan to have areas of their life.
1 John 2:1-6 pretty much sums up my heart right now:
1My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
2and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
3By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
5but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected By this we know that we are in Him:
6the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
John is saying that Christ came to die for our sins, and we may call ourselves Christians but if we don't keep His commandments, then we are a LIAR. Plain and simple a liar, I bet more people would start to think about how they live if God would plainly call us liars. Because that is what we are, and we DISGRACE Him when we do not follow His commandments. Sounds simple, but putting into practice is the test. The Road Ahead is hard, but our repentance is always the right "first step" we can take.
